These grants are suitable for people who are struggling to pay a specific bill due to a layoff, unexpected medical expense, or other unforeseeable circumstance. Applicants must be gainfully employed (30+ hrs/week) or unemployed for less than 2 months to qualify for this grant. NOTE: We are not able to assist applicants who receive SSD or SSI as income at this time.


Types of bills that may qualify include (but are not limited to): rent, utility bills, car insurance, health insurance, medical or dental bills and auto repair bills.

 

 

  
This program provides backpacks filled with winter supplies to low-income children, in Washington County, whose parents might otherwise not be able to afford them. We supply backpacks filled with fleece blankets, hat/scarf/glove sets, new socks and gift certificates for free meals (redeemable at local grocery stores). These backpacks are distributed directly to the schools annually, during the first part of November.
