I have had an addiction problem for the last 15 years. I have been in and out of treatment centers, jails, and even prison. Life has seemed to be a constant struggle for me. I graduated from highschool in 1996 and have worked at many dead-end jobs. I have two children, 9 and 13.With my addiction problem and background, it hasn't been easy for me to hold down any kind of job, or to qualify for any kind of career. Almost 2 months ago, I hit my absolute personal "bottom". I found myself homeless, freezing cold, standing at a bus stop with a backpack full of dirty clothes and nowhere to go. I decided I was DONE. I have engaged into outpatient drug treatment and live in a Recovery house. The difference today is that I have made a decision to do this by myself with the support of my Higher Power. I'm determined to make it, to succeed in College that I just recently started, and to become the Mother that my kids deserve. Thank you for your time. ~ Megan D.
